The Defender Within

I gave it some thought and has come to the conclusion that a Defender is as a shield in a warrior’s hand. (Google defines it as a person who defends something or someone, guardian, protector, bodyguard). If someone is your defender they stand as your advocate, they speak in your behalf if they have to but most of all they prevent you from getting whatever blows might be coming to you!
In football the defense prevents the opposing team from scoring hence raising his team’s worth and chance of scoring and winning that specific game. In the (Christian) life, the defender is similar in that he/she doesn’t just shield others from harm but he/she sees beforehand the enemy’s tactics, know of his techniques and utilizes specific and sure strategies to prevent souls from falling into danger or the enemy’s trap. As much as the permission is given, a defender might approach the person whose life is of concern and advise him/her with wisdom and politeness. Based on how urgent the need to seek safety might be at times the approach might’ve begun smoothly but might result in a less smooth way. Example, the way you’d warn a child not to climb up a ladder to prevent falling is not the same approach you’d have of someone stranded in the middle of the street as cars rush towards them full speed. The need to save them is most urgent than in the latter case. It’s very difficult for defenders to be understood. I see them mainly as the character of the little girl in the movie KNOWING, having known so much then too much, standing aloof, standoffish and isolated even at times still while being fixated because of the simple fact that they’re purpose driven. These aren’t the type that entertain foolishness and they can’t afford to let their guards down even for a second, to do so could mean to surrender to an eternity sworn enemy, that option isn’t given nor is it considered. A defender tries to be just in action because at all times justice must prevail, in their corner of the world injustice equals a world that has fallen apart, that isn’t worth living in. The generation they live in must be preserved for the next to have a better chance! For this reason and more you’re likely to find defenders as police officers, teachers mostly in fields where they can stand for and speak for or provide assistance and justice toward others! These people often times aren’t afraid to throw themselves to the wolves so to speak for the safety of another. They’re often misjudged because of their position but they continue as if they felt no pain though they could be dying inside from all the blows. That is a slight summary of a defender! I defend at my post!!!
