Back, years ago when I first came to Miami for the first time, God sent me with such a revelation of a sermon from Ezekiel 37 that was delivered to its source.
As I read this chapter today I’m seeing it in new light still and realize three major parts. Verse one to ten focuses on the dry bones to a great army for God. In this valley there are nothing but dry bones that need to be prophesied upon in order for them to live again. It’s starting from scratch to bring about a great number to service the Lord. Only God knows how long they had been in that dry bones state but time is of no essence when God is in your business. For Him, it’s never too late to turn things around even if to the naked eye it looks to be hopeless and you’re feeling helpless, God, once He steps in changes all that in the blink of an eye and all is well. (Are you in a situation where it seems you’re surrounded by dry bones and even you have become one as well? Fear not, let the prophecy of the dry bones that lived again to form a great army for God become your new testimony as God reaches in your case. Position yourself for the prophecy of blessed living bones to accomplish in your life when you need it be it now or in the future. Understand, Elisha’s dry bones in the grave gave life to a dead man, (2 Kings 13:21). You have potential as God’s anointed to call into existence the ‘greater things’ that Jesus said you would do), (John 14:13-14).
As verse eleven to fourteen is on bringing God’s people out of the grave where they were put and left to die. These are not dry bones, they are live people that might have been cursed, rebuked, exiled, blamed, charged, labeled, manipulated, brainwashed, exploited in one way, shape or form and found themselves inside a grave though alive. They walk as dead men walking, might even be suicidal some of them but they’ve been forced to live in such a state and God has come to their rescue. (Do you find yourself in such a similar state? God has not changed! He’s the same yesterday, today and forever and can deliver you now as He did then. May the power of the resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ reach deep within your situation and bring you to new light to vouch for His greatness).
From verse fifteen to the end however, there’s a new alliance placed between God and His people, this time it’s eternal without expiration and can’t be broken. Whether you’re from the line of Judah, Joseph, Ephraïm, the house or children of Israel and their companions, this alliance includes you. After having gone through so much and having found God came through for you and Jesus rescued your pitiful soul do you not feel that a bond has been formed between you and His Holiness? After your near death experiences don’t you feel like a treaty might have been formed to keep you alive still? You were left to die, death was at your door, or maybe you were already pronounced dead and your relatives had already been screaming in pain and pure shame as to how it all happened and you were thought gone forever off of the face of this earth but God turned it all around in a pact to servitude, obedience and sanctification. How awesome is that! You’ve found God to come through for you in all walks in life, no barrier could keep Him out when you called to Him. You whom at one point believed not, doubted, was skeptic about so many things that you even questioned the wind that blows. Yet now you have and is living an alliance with His Majesty. How so much more privileged you are than the ones that are six feet under already without having had such an option! You are blessed to be not just alive but to be!
When God goes through so much hardship to save his people be it through dry bones syndrome, or death and the grave, after it is done, expect an alliance because it’s not all been done in vain. Expect an alliance, await the alliance, look to the alliance, that will be as an altar of a guide as your new way of life and hope for the future generations to come. Keep hope!
